Douglas Lynn Powell, 52, of Kirkmansville, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Baptist Healthcare of Madisonville, Ky.

He was born in Elkton Jan. 31, 1960, a son of Warner Glenn Powell of Hopkinsville, Ky. and the late Barbara Nell Tucker Powell.

Mr. Powell was a concrete finisher and a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 24 at 10 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Reverend Buddy Weatherford officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation began Sunday, Dec. 23 after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

In addition to his father, Mr. Powell is survived by his wife of 29 years, Betty Powell of Elkton; his daughters, Stephanie Lyon of Sharon Grove, Ky. and Amanda Powell of Kirkmansville, Ky.; his brothers, Carl and Randy Powell both of Kirkmansville, Ky.; his sisters, Becky Bass and Mary Ellen Meacham both of Hopkinsvillle, Ky. and Susie Hall of Kirkmansville, Ky, and three grandchildren.
