A community prayer service was held on the lawn in front of Russellville High School on Tuesday morning remembrance of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.
Students from the high school were given the opportunity to join the prayer service if they wanted.
RHS principal Kim McDaniel spoke and prayers were lead by Russellville mayor Mark Stratton and local minister Marius Beard.
In addition to many students, dozens of other community members also gathered to take part in praying for the families affected by the Connecticut school shooting and for the safety of children in Russellville and Logan County as well.
