Mrs. Edna H. Hughes is EVP/Senior Lender/Board Member and Board Secretary of Lewisburg Banking Company. She has been a banker for 30 years and has worked for Lewisburg Banking Company for the past 13 years. Her bank experience includes every area of the bank from bookkeeping to lending to senior management.
Edna was selected by the Bluegrass Bankers Association out of the entire state membership to receive the Charles D. Bennett Scholarship. She will attend the Barrett School of Banking in Memphis, Tennessee for a total of six weeks over three years. The scholarship will pay all tuition, travel and meal expenses. This will be extensive training with intersession projects due each year. The scholarship will be offered each year to a young banker like Edna who needs the opportunity to further develop their banking skills to move to the next level in their career.
Her civic involvement in Logan County has been extensive in many areas for many years. She was one of the first two women in Kentucky to be inducted in Rotary International Club and is currently President-Elect of the Russellville Rotary Club. She has served numerous terms on the board of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, including two as President. She is currently a member of the Logan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. These are just some examples of involvement that demonstrate her love for Logan County and its people. She truly enjoys helping people whether it is through the bank, church or some civic group.
Mrs. Hughes is married to Mike Hughes and the mother of Meredith Hughes and Sara Hughes. She is the daughter of Eloise Hadden and the late Vernon Hadden.
