Pastor Chris Cowan and Jana Hanks, alumni of Leadership Logan Class of 2012 presented $8,037 to Logan County Superintendent, Marshall Kemp and Russellville Superintendent, Leon Smith. The class choose as their project Family Resource & Youth Service Centers, raising money for each school in Logan County and Russellville to help with the needs in each school.

The money raised helped with the Back to School Bash, Youth Action Team of Logan County, provided lunches for Lewisburg intercession, provided money to send a child to 4-H camp and for angel trees for Christmas gifts for each school.

“It has truly been a pleasure being a part of such a great class and supporting our youth of Logan County, and also each school’s resource directors including, Jama Richardson, Logan County High School, Debbie Browder, Russellville Jr. & Sr. High School, Carol Kees, Stevenson Elementary School, Melanie Manley, Lewisburg and Adairville Schools, and Sarah Ibarra, Auburn, Chandlers and Olmstead Schools”, says Hanks.

The class set their goal to hopefully raise $10,000. Both Chris Cowan and Jana Hanks both would like to still try to raise the remainder of their goal. The account will remain open at First Southern Bank on Main Street in Russellville and donations will still be accepted if there are those that would like to help contribute to the needs of our youth in Logan County and help the class meet their goal. “We are $1,963 from meeting this goal and we will appreciate any donations out there”, says Hanks.

The entire class of Leadership Logan 2012 would like to thank each and every individual and business that have made donations. “We are so blessed to live in such a generous county that always reaches out for those in need” says Hanks.
