The Logan County Cougars are looking forward to the upcoming season with new head coach Lonnie Mason. Last year the Cougars had a successful season making it to region with a record of 21-11. The Cougars lost some talented seniors last year but are confident they will do well this year.

Senior Torin Graham has been playing for the Cougars for four years and is the only starter returning from last season.

“I think we are going to do a lot better than what people think, I think we can be pretty good. We have a lot of talented players,” said Graham. “This year is special to me because I really have a change to show what I’ve got and prove people wrong.”

The Cougars also welcome new head coach Lonnie Mason. Mason has been the assistant coach for six years but now is living his dream of becoming the head coach.

“We’ve had some struggles this year because of chemistry but I’m excited about our young talent. We have moments of struggle in practice but they are seeing each other everyday and getting used to one another,” said Mason. “I can see us getting better every practice and I’m looking forward to this year.”

The Cougars will face Warren Central next Friday to kick off their season.
