Michael Douglas Powell, 30, of Elkton, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Clarksville, Tenn. May 3, 1982, a son of Douglas Wayne Powell Russellville and the late Lois Anne Overton Powell.

Mr. Powell was an Insurance Agent for TransAmerica Insurance Company in Hopkinsville. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and was a former Youth Minister and a member of the Crossroads Church in Russellville.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with Reverend Eric Haley and Reverend Muryd Scipo officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Visitation began Tuesday, Nov. 13 after 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In addition to his father, Mr. Powell is survived by his his step-mother, Sue Powell of Russellville; his brother, Steve Reed of Trenton, and his sister, Jennifer Lee Powell Rambo of Hopkinsville.
