Dear Editor:

It’s that time of year for our local Fraternal Order of Police to begin their fundraising efforts for the annual Shop with a Cop. If you are not familiar, Shop with a Cop is an annual event that is held at the Russellville Wal-Mart. The FOP tries to give $100 to a selected 100 kids from the Logan County area. With this money, kids can purchase jeans, gloves or boots, socks or a new pair of jeans, even a warm jacket. We always hope to help more than 100 kids, but we can’t without your donations.

Some of you might be receiving phone calls for monetary donations from Jean Stuart, or you can walk into the Russellville Police Department and personally donate to this cause. Help a child this season have a shopping trip of their own.

As always, thank you all who have donated to Shop with a Cop in the past, present, and those who will continue to donate in the future. With your help, more kids can have this opportunity.
