Paul W. Coss, of Adairville, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, and charged with Custodial Interference, Rape 3rd Degree and Sodomy 3rd Degree in connection with an incident that occurred on Sept. 5 in the city of Adairville.
According to the police report, Adairville Police Chief Steve Hadden received a call on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from law enforcement in Manatee County, Fla. saying that they believed there had been a possible runaway juvenile from their jurisdiction and they thought she was in the city of Adairville.
The runaway was alleged to be staying with Coss at his residence on Railroad Street in Adairville.
At approximately 12 p.m. on Sept. 5, chief Hadden went to the residence of Coss and located the juvenile who had been reported missing for 10 days by her adoptive parents.
According to the report, the juvenile had a birth date of Sept. 19, 1996.
In an interview with Coss on Sept. 7, Hadden stated Coss admitted to driving down to Florida on Saturday, Sept. 1 to pick up the juvenile and then brought her back to Adairville, Ky. Coss also admitted in the interview, says the report, that he had intercourse with the juvenile two times and also oral sex on two occasions.
Coss told authorities that the juvenile told him she was was 19-years-old. Chief Hadden stated in the report that from her appearance and behavior he could tell the juvenile was less than 18 years of age.
