Good morning this Saturday morning Sept. 22, the first day of fall and isn’t it a most beautiful day? Hope you enjoy it.
Got a call Friday from my cousin Omanel Robertson of Florida. She was feeling very well. It is always good to hear from her. She is the only child left from daddy’s brother Uncle Ander.
It’s getting closer, the annual Johnson family time, which is October the 20th. This year, it will be at the activities building at Elk Lick. So mark it on your calendar and be sure to come. It is pot-luck eats. We will have Richard and Sue Johnson here from Louisville. He is the one that has lots and lots of family tree info.
Lannie and Judy Jernigan attended a family reunion last Sunday in Princeton. It was Judy’s grandma Hall’s side of the family. They only had 47 attending, yet had a good day.
If you would like to send Juanita Silvey a card, address it to Maple Manor, 515 Green Drive, Greenville, Ky. 42345. She will enjoy it.
So far as I know at the moment, Jimmie Fleming came home from the hospital last Saturday night, had such a bad night, had to be taken back to the hospital. Hope he can soon get to feeling much better. He again is now home.
Returning home safe and sound from a trip to Cumberland Gap are Margie Latham and daughter Sheila Heltsley, Vicki Martin and Lynn Joines. They had a good time out together.
Oh, seen any woolly worms? I haven’t, but got a call from Bev Whitson, she had seen several all light tan and lo and behold, here came 2 more as black as could possibly be, so what’s your guess?
Hear cousin Marshall Johnson in St. Louis is not feeling very well. Hope by now he is feeling better.
Thursday, Judy Jernigan picked me up. We rode to Lewisburg, met Martine Brown and Kathryn Stuart of Russellville and rode down to beautiful Shady Cliff and ate our lunch. I really like their blooming onion, got one too.
Jerri and Wilford Scarbrough of Auburn, visited awhile one day this week with his sis Helen and Glenn Porter. Those three went to the cemetery and put new flowers on families’ grave sites.
And by the way, Wilford celebrated his birthday on Sunday the 23rd. Hope he had a special day.
We have a new baby within our church family. Arriving September 10, 2012, was a little premature 5 pound, 3 ounce, 18 inches long Emma Gail Coursey. He grandparents are Jeff and Deloris Coursey and her great-granny is Hester Martin. Little Emma has had some problems and is still in the hospital. Hope she is soon fine and able to be home.
After I got back home from church this morning, I finally gave up, turned the heat on. Already had on blue jeans, heavy sweater, with a blanket wrapped over me and I was still chilly. Whew, actually it really is not that cold.
Those that have been in this week have been of course Stanley, Elaine and Tara, Judy Jernigan, Kim Richardson, Gracey and Cassidy, Martha Wright and Glenn and Helen Porter. They brought me some peas and sweet potatoes, yum. They are good. I kept telling Glenn he should have hulled or shelled the peas, but of course he thought I should shell them and I did and was delighted to get them.
Have a good week and God bless.
