William Richard Hallman, 72, of Adairville, died Sunday September 23, 2012 at his home.

He was born June 18, 1940, in Robertson County, Tenn., to the late Ernest Arnold and Eva Jean Bruce Hallman.

His brother, Walter Glenn “Pokey” Hallman and sister, Edna Louise Hallman Trent also preceded him in death.

Mr. Hallman was a farmer who loved to fish and grow tobacco and for a time he worked at Hinkle Chair Co. in Springfield, Tenn.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Dean Funeral Chapel in Adairville, with Bro. Allen Woodard and Bro. Jimmy Chapman officiating. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville. Darrell Creek, Adam Hallman, Anthony Hallman, Terry Creek, Jody Hallman, Chris Creek, Quinton Creek and Christopher Creek will serve as pallbearers. Nate Creek, Sonny Rogers, Rodney Creek and David Hallman will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Hallman is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Creek Hallman of Adairville; son, Roger Creek of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; brothers, Ernest Lee Hallman of Adairville, Jimmy Hallman of Grayson, Bobby Joe Hallman of Springfield, Tenn., Eugene Hallman of Adairville; grandchildren, Melissa Tichenor, Rodney Creek, Quinton Creek, Christopher Creek, Little Roger Creek and great grandchildren, Nathanelle Creek, Sophia Creek, Keaton Creek, Jake Creek.

The family requests, if so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home
