He was born in Casey County Aug. 6, 1935, a son of the late Patnie Allen and the late Edith Campbell Allen.
Reverend Allen was a Methodist minister for 50 years, a Kentucky Colonel, an Admiral of Kentucky Water Ways and a avid bird and coon hunter.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. EST at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Liberty. Burial will follow in the Whited Cemetery in Liberty.
Pallbearers are Derrick Markham, Frankie Allen, Billy Smith, Devin Chastain, Hunter Scott, Brian Allen and Bradley McGuffey.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Allen; his sons, Darrell Lee Allen of Russellville, Timothy Wayne Allen of Elkton and Reverend Paul Allen of Sparta, Tenn.; his daughter; Sherrie Lynn Allen McGuire of Russellville; his brothers, Dr. Arvil Allen of Louisville and Reverend James C. Allen of Jeffersonville, Ind.; his sisters, Wina Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio and Linda Reed of Liberty; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church in Russellville, Kentucky c/o Ruth Stuart, 907 Orchard Drive, Russellville, Kentucky 42276.
Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
