Republicans care about the unborn, marriage

Dear Editor:

I am always glad when I read in any newspaper outside the private sector that someone knows a bit of scripture. However, it amazes me that while the point being made using a certain scripture quoting the Savior urging children to be permitted to come to Him, the same people are overlooking that there will be many children who never can come since they will be aborted, for the platform advocating such a practice is solicited or touted by the party for which the writer is urging women and senior citizens to vote.

Since I know Senators Paul and McConnell, I am aware that the writer’s statement about their not wanting single mothers to have access to health care is entirely false. Neither are they recommending doing away with Medicare or Social Security but are actually working to keep it from becoming bankrupt.

Let us not become disturbed by those who pretend they know of someone who has the authority to take away the ability of women and senior citizens as well as men and younger citizens to make decisions for themselves how to vote by looking at the platform which actually cherishes the life of the unborn and upholds marriage between a man and woman so that procreation can continue. Rather let us realize that all citizens whether male or female, young or old, can think for themselves and not be persuaded by some who do not care what the platform of their party states.
