Logan FFA attends state fair

On Aug. 16, 2012, the Logan County FFA Chapter went to Louisville, Ky. for the annual state fair.

The chapter had some students showcase their talents in various hobbies and trade work, students also competed in team activities. Kelly Eicher, Ashley Brinkley, Sarah Edgar, and DJ Lee represented the chapter as the agronomy team and placed 8th out of 15. Savannah Woodall, Connor Williams, Thomas Poole, and Rachel Simmons represented the chapter as the dairy judging team.

They placed 13th out of 45. Caroline Milam, Austin Smotherman, David Vincent, and Monica Nolan represented the chapter as the livestock judging team. They placed 7th out of 53 teams. Wesley Estes, Nick Stuart, Daniel Beaty, and Thomas Jones represented the chapter as the meats team, they placed 14th.

John Wilson Coots came in 2nd place for dark tobacco stick entry, Dean Canler came in 1st place for his Ag. mechanics entry.

Many of the members from the chapter that went this year had great success at the fair!
