The Logan County golf team faced Franklin-Simpson and Russellville in a match on Monday at the Russellville Country Club. Logan County finished second only missing the lead by three points. Logan County scored a 169, which is the lowest score for them this season. Franklin-Simpson won the match with 166 points.

Carson Zibart was the medalist for the Logan County Cougars with a total score of 37. Wesley Estes finshed close behind with a score of 40. Kenton Howard shot a 44, Ben Wright shot a 48 and Brennan Summers finished with a score of 49. Matthew Hughes and Jack Wright are youngers players on the team but also participated in the meet. Hughes shot a 59 and Wright finished with a 62.

“The boys played good today. This was the lowest score they’ve had all season,” said LCHS coach Ethan Meguiar. “We’re seeing some improvement and getting better.”

The Lady Cougar golf team didn’t have enough teammates for an overall score but still finished good in the meet. Grace Hams shot a 54, Meredith Johnson shot a 63 and Maeson Hayes shot a 66.
