The Logan County High School volleyball team got off to a great start to the season last week with a 2-0 win over visiting Warren Central on Thursday.

The Lady Cougars won the first game 25-15 and the second game 25-13 to take the season-opening match.

Logan County finished with 19 kills overall and were led by Rebecca Dezarn with five. Megan Griggs, Katelyn Jones and Chanler Steenbergen each had four apiece.

Steenbergen also led the team with six digs. Rachyl Miller had six and Madison Abbott had five.

Logan County also went 4-1 at the Apollo Invitational over the weekend and currently has a record of 5-1. The Lady Cougars beat Whitesville Trinity, Hopkins County Central, Apollo and Henderson County in the tournament and lost to Green County.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action tonight at home against Todd County Central in the first District 14 match of the season.
