Former CEO of Commonwealth Health Corp dies at Chandlers home

Seventy-year-old John Charles Desmarais, former CEO and president of Commonwealth Health Corporation, which owns the Medical Centers in Bowling Green, Franklin and Scottsville, was found dead at his home in Chandlers at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14.

According to Logan County Coroner Mary Givens, Desmarais had gone for a walk and was found unresponsive by his wife on the couple’s airplane landing strip.

The body was sent to Louisville for an autopsy. Givens said foul play is not suspected.
