Lorene Stirsman Leedom, 101, of Russellville, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Creekwood Place.

She was born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 10, 1910, a daughter of the late Thomas Nelson and Eunice Yeargin Stirsman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leedom was preceded in death by her husband, Walter V. Leedom Jr. and her son, Thomas VanLeer Leedom.

Mrs. Leedom was co-owner of Leedom’s Store in Russellville and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Friday, July 20 at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery with Brother Travis Bryan officiating. Visitation began Thursday, July 19 from 4-8 p.m. in Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel.

She is survived by her daughters, Clarkie L. Milam and husband James and Jeannie L. Bowles and husband Charlie, both of Russellville; her grandchildren, Holly M. Watkins and and husband Larance and Brooke M. Phillips and husband Tim, both of Russellville, David W. Bowles and wife Catherine of Maryville, Tenn. and Jamie B. Knight and husband Brian of Lexington, and her great-grandchildren, Milam and Fraley Watkins, Carleigh and Camden Phillips and Riley Elizabeth Bowles.

The family ask that donations be made to the Creekwood Place Activities Center, 683 East 3rd Street, Russellville, Ky. 42276.
