July 1st, starting a new month. It is hot, dry and there will be no fireworks until we have rain.

Let us all pray for rain.

I went to church and we had a good sermon. Gary Christmas brought the message.

Bro. Larry and family returned safe from a trip to the old Smoky Mountains. It was hot there also.

It rained all around us here in Lewisburg. It is still dry. The wind changed a cool breeze this Tuesday morning. I will take it and be glad. Count your blessings one by one.

Ronald Johnson was laid to rest today. Services were at Prices Chapel in Lewisburg. Burial at Fitzhugh Cemetery.

Hump Day

It’s the Fourth of July. Try to keep cool. No fireworks, no grilling. Stay home and watch a movie. Spend family time at home. It is the best, after all.

Pray meeting on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at Tabernacle in Lewisburg.

The Fourth of July went out without a bang.

Burn ban still in. Obey the Law.

Take care of your pets in this hot, hot weather. They get hot also. Keep water out at all times.

The old saying goes, you don’t miss your water until your well goes dry. Are we there yet?

Pauline Coursey Smith passed away. She was Danny Coursey’s sister. Scottie Wallace passed away from battling illness for a long time. God, rest their souls. Thoughts go out to the families.

It’s too hot for yard sales. There’s not much doings with the heat. Hopefully there will be a break soon. The fields of green have too much brown. There’s not much happening in our small town. Lord knows we need rain. We should humble ourselves and pray for rain anyway.

Friday, Pay Day

Don’t let your money burn a hole in your pockets. Power bills will be sky high with the AC having to run day and night. It sure is nice to walk in a cool house, cool store or ride in a cool car. Count your blessings.

Today (July 6) is International Kissing Day. They don’t say where.

Today, the grass is not greener on the other side. Watch and pray the Lord may be four days late, but right on time. Amen.

July 7, 2012, Paul Helton and Lillian Helton have been married 23 years. In dog years that is forever. LOL

In our town of Lewisburg, when most everyone runs into some one they know, they stop and talk while shopping. It brightens my day.

The lazy days of hot July. I am bored having to stay in. I like to sit on the porch swing, but it’s 100 degrees and almost dark. Cabin fever has set in. I will lay in the first snow we have. I feel cooler just thinking about the snow.

Sick list, pray for healing:

Matt Moore

Minny Johnson

Margie Helton

So man are concerned for the unconcerned. Smile and be glad, cry and be sad. Cast all your cares on the Lord.

Pray for Bro. Lon Sosh. He has to have back surgery. Amen.

God bless you.
