Every year students across the U.S. take the Terra Nova standardized test in Language, Arts and Math. This year Alyssa Gaines, age 8, scored in the top 1 percent of second grade students across the nation.
Alyssa consistently earns straight As at Merele Sidener Gifted and Academy in Indianapolis, Ind.
She is the daughter of Mark and April Gaines, the granddaughter of Moses and Rose Gaines and the great-granddaughter of Moses and Ida Mae Gaines of Russellville.
