There are only three victories separating the Cougars, Panthers, and the Lady Cougars from that elusive region trophy.

On Saturday morning each team would find out who their first opponent would be.

The Lady Cougars after falling in the District 13 title game to Franklin-Simpson will match up with the District 14 champions, the Bowling Green Lady Purples in the last game of the night at 7 p.m.

"We hadn't seen Bowling Green this year," LCHS head coach Michael Crawford said. "We'll get on the phone with people who have seen them and find out what they like to do. We hadn't really looked at who we played all year, we just try and take care of ourselves."

The Lady Cougars have finished the season strong and will look to carry that momentum into the Region 4 tournament on Monday night. They will be led at the plate by seniors Alicia Croft and her over .400 batting average and Lindsey Ezell's three home runs. Shelby Milam will be asked to hold down the Bowling Green offense with her team leading 90+ innings pitched.

The Panthers will the play the first baseball game in the Region 4 tournament against District 15 champion, Glasgow, at 10 a.m.

"They are a very good ball club, we better come to play and play 21 outs," RHS head coach Lou Kendall said. "They are well coached, we had them two years ago in the Region and I'm sure those seniors hadn't forgotten that so we're going to have to play well."

When the two hall of fame coaches meet at home plate at 10 a.m. there will be over 1700 games worth of experience between the two coaches. The Panthers have a deep group of arms in, Corey Wright, Caleb Wills, Crewsdon Kemp, Zach Denney, and Thomas Shifflett to throw at the Scotties, as well as a very potent offense.

The Cougars baseball team will take on the District 14 runner ups in the Bowling Green Purples.

"Good time as any to play one of the top teams is in the first game and go out there and do our best," LCHS head coach Ethan Meguiar said. "Hopefully Thomas will be healthy, and Nash hasn't pitched against them yet."

The Cougars offense will be led by Dustin Cartas' .402 batting average and Ryan Harper's 7 home runs. The strength of the Cougars is their pitching as they are led by Thomas Miller and Dustin Nash's sub 2.5 ERA.

The Panthers will play against Glasgow at 10 a.m., the Cougars baseball team will play Bowling Green at 4 p.m., and then the Lady Cougars will play Bowling Green at 7 p.m.
