Ed Austin, 78, of Russellville, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in the Logan Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Logan County Oct. 28, 1933, a son of the late Amos Donald and Sarah Emiline Farmer Austin. In addition to0 his parents, Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Austin; his brother, Jessie Austin, and his sisters, Jo Miller, Lucille Austin and Mary Elizabeth Austin.
Mr. Austin retired from Red Kap Mfg where he worked in maintenance and was a member of the Living Word Church in Adairville.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 30 at 1 p.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Steve Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation began Sunday, April 29 after 5 p.m. and Monday, April 30 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers were Mark Cowan, Mike Miller, Ron Bybee, Larry Long, Austin Bybee, Bobby Johnson, Tommy Whittemore, Landon Bybee, Josh Whittemore, Jacob Whittemore and Kayden Miller.
He is survived by his daughters, Dafnel Fulcher of Bowling Green and Rita Austin of Russellville; his brother, Fred Lee Austin of Russellville; his sisters, Betty Scott of Olmstead and Geneva Parker of Clarksville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Mark Cowan, Jennifer Miller, Stacey Bybee, Kim Long and Ashley Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren.
