RHS SBDM meeting

A special meeting of the Russellville SBDM Council has been called for Tuesday, March 27th at 4:30 at the Central Office. The agenda will be training on principal selection, including but not limited to discussion and possible decisions on: methods to get stakeholder input, developing criteria, writing interview questions, methods for gathering information, and a process timeline.

Community Worship Service

On Thursday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. numerous churches will gather together at Crossroads Church in Russellville to celebrate Jesus Christ as well as support the many children in our community that have needs to be met. This Community Worship Service will bring together people from all over Logan County to support and pray for the Family Resource Directors that work within our school systems and to listen to their testimonies to better acquaint ourselves with the outcry of need that is right here in our own backyards. A love offering will be taken up and 100 percent of what is collected will be given to the Family Resource Directors to help children in need in our schools. Everyone is invited to attend.

Easter experience at Post Oak

Post Oak Baptist Church is hosting an Easter experience today from 1-3:30 p.m. Come and experience Jesus’ love and forgiveness through five activity stations your family will love. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Adairville Easter & Egg Hunt

The Adairville-South Logan County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Easter parade and egg hunt today on the Adairville town square. Festivities will begin at noon and the parade will take place at 1 p.m. The egg hunt will be after the parade is finished.

Logan Easter Egg Hunt

The Logan County Easter Egg Hunt will be today at 2 p.m. on the softball field at Memorial Park. The egg hunt is open to children ages 1-10. This event is free and sponsored by the Russellville Recreation Department, The Logan County Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion. For more information, call 726-5033.

Democrat Precinct Conventions

The Logan County Democrats will be holding their precinct conventions today at 10 a.m. at your local polling location. Your attendance at your precinct convention is the first step in getting involved in the Democrat party by helping select the Logan County Democrat executive committee. Schochoh Spring Fish Fry and Auction

There will be a Spring Fish Fry and Auction at the Schochoh Community Center Saturday, March 31 from 5-8 p.m. The Schrocks will be cooking up the delicious Mississippi catfish and we will have white beans, slaw, and hushpuppies. The price is $10 per person. We will also be having an auction that evening. We hope to have some delicious home baked goods, Easter baskets and any other donations that we collect. If you would like to donate something for the auction bring it out that evening or if you need it to be picked up call Lori Rouse 847-2200 or Shelly Henderson 726-2113.

Tractor Pull

The Logan Cattlemen Association will host an Ole Red Sled Antique Tractor Pull today at 10 a.m. at the Logan County Ag Arena. Admission is free. For more information, call Jake 878-0126 or Ed 878-0303.

Logan middle school musical

Don't miss the second Logan County Middle School Musical. This year over 45 middle school students from Logan County Schools, will be performing the production Suessical Jr. The production will be held at the Old Logan County Court House, Friday April 13th at 6:30pm, Saturday, April 14th at 2 p.m. and 6:30pm and a Sunday

Minority Resources Unlimited scholarships

Scholarship applications for Minority Resources Unlimited and The Learning Tree Fine Arts Center will be accepted through April 27. Applications can be obtained from the guidance counselors at Logan County and Russellville schools.

First Baptist Church, 5th and Spring streets, where Rev. Sammy Lee Spencer is the pastor, will observe Sunday school and youth day today. The 11 a.m. speaker will be Rev. Dennis Sydnor, associate pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Holy week services

Pleasant Union General Baptist Church, Highway 107 west of Lewisburg, will be having special holy week services beginning today at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. titled “The Footsteps of Jesus.” Additional services will be April 4-6 at 6:30 p.m. nightly and at 11 a.m. on April 8.

Habitat for Humanity dedication

The Land of Logan Habitat for Humanity will have the dedication of their new house at 155 Bismark Lane today at 3 p.m. This will be for the Troy Vick family.

Blood Drive at Sacred Heart

There will; be a blood drive on Monday, April 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 12-6 p.m. Please give the gift of life and donate a pint of blood. For an appointment, you may call 725-7241 or log onto www.redcrossblood.org. Everyone's help will be greatly appreciated.

Female self defense class

There will be a female basic self defense class today from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Russellville Recreation building. Agaes 15 and older are welcome. A $5 donation to Relay for Life is suggested, but no one will be turned away.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive today at Auburn Baptist Church from 1-6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

New Spiritualettes anniversary

The New Spiritualettes will hold their 16th annual anniversary celebration today at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 5th and Spring streets, where Sammy L. Spencer is the pastor. your choir or group is welcome to come and perform. The theme this year is “I know Christ won’t fail.” For more information, contact Dot Sydnor at 726-2160.

Lake Malone Egg Hunt

Friends of Lake Malone State Park will hold an Easter egg hunt on today at 10 a.m. Have your photo taken with the Easter bunny. The egg hunt is free; as a fundraiser for FOLMSP, a fee will be charged for photos. Benefit for Keith Hester

There will be a benefit supper and auction for Keith Hester “Bozo” today at the Chandlers Elementary School. The meal will be 5-6:30 p.m. with the auction to follow. Tim Haley will be auctioning off cakes and other items.
