The Lady Cougars welcomed the Lady Devils from Owensboro to town tonight. Logan County has been struggling as of late, losing five straight games, but right off the bat the Lady Cougars were determined to snap that streak.

The Lady Cougars offense came alive in the first half and hung on in the second half to win 47-39.

The Lady Cougars opened up the game racing out to a 11-5 lead featuring a Lady Cougars offense that had been dormant for much of the five game losing streak. Senior Jaylin Jones hit big shot after big shot, hit a big three pointer with two defenders in her face as a almost a check to see how much on fire she was.

They would go into the second quarter up 17-12. In the second quarter the rest of the Lady Cougars heated up from the field. In by far the best quarter they've had in a long time they stretched the lead to 28-17 before the break.

It looked like the Lady Cougars would keep the pressure on and just run away from the Lady Devils.

But in the second half, the explosive offense cooled off quite a bit and with the lack of offensive explosion the defense was called on once again to try and keep the Lady Cougars afloat.

A lead that had been as many as 11 shrunk to two in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter though the Lady Cougars defense clamped down hard on the Lady Devils and ultimately fended off any thoughts of a comeback and the Lady Cougars ended up with the victory 47-39.
