3-on-3 basketball league forming

The Russellville Recreation Center will be having an adult 3-on-3 basketball league beginning in January. All rosters and a $30 team registration fee is due by Jan. 6. A team captain meeting will be held on Jan. 9. Visit the recreation center or call the office at 726-5033 for more information.

Kick start your weight loss with a lifestyle change with a new class at the Russellville Recreation Center. The class will meet every Monday for six weeks starting January 9, 2012. Packets are available now through January 3. The first 50 packets turned in will be accepted. There is a $20 registration fee. For more information, call 726-5052.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Logan County Library Board of Trustees will meet in special session on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers and adopt collaboration and partnership guidelines.

Free Christmas Concert

There will be a free Christmas Concert tonight at 7 p.m. at Crossroads Church. Worship will be led by Christian recording artist Trent Monk. Praise teams from Elklick Baptist Church, Hillview Heights Church and Crossroads Church will also participate. Speakers include Dana Reed, Chris Cowan, Calvin Naylor and Toby Baptiste.

A Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be held tonight at First Baptist Church, 277 S. Main Street in Russellville, at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Candlelight Service at R’ville Christian

A Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be held tonight at Russellville Christian Church, 505 East 9th Street in Russellville, at 10 p.m. And offering benefiting the Jesus Center of Russellville will be received. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call 772-4684.

Christmas Eve Service at New Life

New Life Baptist Church in Auburn will be combining their Christmas Eve and Christmas Day service together today at 8 p.m. There will be regular worship services and including the lighting of the candles. No Sunday morning service on Christmas Day will be held. New Life invites everyone in the community to join them. For more information, call the church at 542-8694.

Special service at Marriah Grove

Marriah Grove Baptist Church will be having morning worship service today at noon instead of on Christmas Day. Everyone is welcome to come and help celebrate the birth of Jesus.

First Presbyterian Church, 159 West Sixth Street, will have a Christmas night candlelight service today at 5 p.m. “Come as you are” to enjoy Christmas carols and scripture Readings by candlelight. After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, let your heart be lit by this sacred, holy time and by the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Cantata

The Christmas Cantata “Celebrate The Day” will be performed by the Sharon Grove Baptist Church youth today at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Special service at First Baptist

First Baptist Church, 5th and Spring streets, will have service at 8 a.m. today. There will be no 11 a.m. service.
