“Give it all you’ve got!” This was the order of the day for 36 Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana high school teams competing at Austin Peay State University recently.

The Governor’s Guard Fall Raider Challenge featured six events testing the physical fitness, endurance and character of each of the 360 Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) competitors. The events required these young people to stay highly motivated and employ critical organizational and teamwork skills.

After the final event the Logan County High School Cougar Raiders stood with the best! Their motivation and focus paid off, with the Cougar Raiders capturing two second-place finishes in the one-rope-bridge and the High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) pull events.

Cadet Command Sergeant Major Ben Bowman, Raider Alpha Team Commander, summed-up the day; “We did an excellent job, we went to take care of business and we did, we worked, pushed and succeeded together.”
