We have just experienced our 43rd Annual Holiday Open House in downtown Russellville and what a success it was! With over 23 businesses open for the day each owner soon found out that their shops were brimming with activity.

Main Street Russellville would like to thank each of those owners for participating in the open house, as well as for helping with the daunting and expensive task of advertising. The square was alive with the sounds of Christmas - thanks to Eddie Brooks for taking care of the music - and for Santa (thanks to his helper Freddie Markham) meeting and greeting people as he walked the sidewalks throughout the afternoon.

Thanks also to several others for helping out on Sunday- Russell Jones and Paula Timberlake for driving the trolley; Evelyn Richardson and Lillian Riley for playing trolley guide and hostess; Holder Automotive for donating the use of a truck to pull the trolley and to Logan Aluminum for once again allowing us to use their trolley.

If there was anyone that was unable to attend the Holiday Open House please take this time to visit all of our shops in Downtown Russellville- believe me you will be surprised, as well as impressed!

We at Main Street Russellville are looking forward to this Christmas Season and are already looking at ways to make future open houses even better - shop owners what about having a Christmas Window Decorating Contest next year - kind of like what they have in New York City?!

If you have any questions regarding the Downtown Business District call Main Street Russellville at 726-1303 or email us pizzazzonmainstreet@yahoo.com .
