The Cougars finished 16th out of 30 teams in the Class 2A championship Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Logan County had a team score of 413, finishing just behind Bell County, which put up a score of 402.
North Oldham won the team title with a total score of 108. North Oldham placed three runners in the top 10 to win the championship.
Calloway County was second with 140 points. South Oldham was third at 140.
Other area schools in the Class 2A meet included Muhlenburg North (19th, 475), Warren East (20th, 479), Franklin-Simpson (22nd, 538), Butler County (23rd, 565) and Allen County-Scottsville (25th, 624).
Individually, Logan County was led by senior Scott Kenney.
Kenney, who finished 97th in the Class 3A meet last year, came in 19th by completing the 5K race in 17:14. Jacob Law of South Oldham won the Class 2A championship with a time of 16:12.
Other Logan County runners in the state meet included senior Joe Dan Laster (44th, 17:53), senior Josh Stewart (124th, 19:02), eighth grader Sye Head (145th, 19:20), eighth grader Colton Spencer (177th, 19:56), eighth grader Noah Thomas (209th, 21:03) and seventh grader Troy Fulcher (219th, 21:34).
In all, 237 runners competed in the Class 2A boys' race.
On the girls' side, one runner from Logan County competed in the state championships.
Senior Crystin Faenza finished 74th out of 200 runners. She finished the race with a time of 22:05.
Jessie Murner of South Oldham won the Class 2A state championship with a time of 19:40.
South Oldham also took the team championship with a score of 85. Lloyd Memorial was second with 105 and Muhlenberg South was third with 150.
Another area team in the Class 2A meet was Allen County-Scottsville, which finished eighth with 221 points.
