On Hometown History Day you are invited to attend the dedication of a Kentucky Historical Society marker honoring Rev. John Littlejohn, a famous Methodist minister. The historic marker will be unveiled at the John Littlejohn Cemetery where Littlejohn is buried.

The ceremony will be Saturday, October 4 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery at Second and Caldwell Streets in Russellville.

Littlejohn, known for securing valuable documents such as the constitution and the Declaration of Independence during the War of 1812 burning of Washington, D.C., was highly respected as a farmer and minister in Logan County.

At 3 p.m. a program on Logan County Religion Heritage will be given by Evelyn Richardson at the United Methodist Temple. Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

In case of inclement weather, all dedication activities will take place at the United Methodist Temple.
