That snapped a three-game losing streak to begin the season and gave LCHS some momentum heading into tonight's Class 4A, District 2 matchup at Russell County.
Even with last week's victory under their belt, tonight's game won't be easy for the Cougars.
Russell County is currently 1-3, but lost just 35-28 last week at Franklin-Simpson.
That's the same Franklin-Simpson team that pounded Russellville 47-15 earlier this season in Rhea Stadium.
There's a couple of other factors that aren't in Logan County's favor.
First and foremost is the fact that the game is in Russell Springs. That's a long two-plus hour bus ride from LCHS.
One thing I've noticed in my years of watching high school sports - when you put a bunch of teenagers on a bus for a long time on their way to a game, they usually don't play their best.
The other thing is that LCHS beat Russell County last year at Cougar Stadium.
So you can bet the Lakers have revenge on their mind.
Logan County has plenty of good things in its favor, though.
Most notably is linebacker Cameron Collier, who was an absolute beast last week against Todd Central.
