Bradley and Frances Brown hosted the Farm Bureau Summer Picnic at their historic farm home recently. Several elected officials of their representative were in attendance. This was an opportunity for the Farm Bureau members to hear reports and discuss issues and concerns with their special guests in a casual setting. The officials present were: Judge Executive Logan Chick, Magistrate Thomas Bouldin, Magistrate Loyd Houchens, Magistrate Kerry Kenady, Magistrate Curtis Watkins and Bill Fandrich, Agricultural representative for U.S. Senator Jim Bunning.

The regular July Farm Bureau business meeting was conducted by President Daniel Gaston. Seven Logan County young farmers attended the Young Farmer Summer Outing in Lexington this summer. Some plans were made for the annual meeting scheduled for 6 p.m., Sept. 20 at Logan County High School. August 21 is Farm Bureau Day at the Kentucky State Fair.
