Larry “L.D.” Wheeler, 75, of Lutz, Fla. formerly of Elkton, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at the Florida Hospital of Tampa.

He was born in Todd County Nov. 8, 1935, a son of the late Clem and Mamie Rager Wheeler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Brown Wheeler in 1983; his son, Larry Allen Wheeler in 1980; his daughter, Lori Lynn Wheeler in 1998, and his sister, Mary Burton.

Mr. Wheeler was retired as owner of Larry’s Amusements in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Beuchanan Baptist Church in Florida.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Todd County Meadow Haven. Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 26 after 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his fiance, Rita Nasser of Lutz, Fla.; his brother, Don Wheeler and wife Patricia of Zephyrhills, Fla.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
