The Russellville Police Department recently arrested Danyon Y. Hardy of Bowling Green on several drug charges.

On June 27, RPD officer Mary L. Kisselbaugh conducted a traffic stop for a non-illuminated license plate on a silver 1997 Cadillac driven by Hardy. During the stop at Logan Plaza, there was an odor of marijuana in the vehicle.

Hardy, 29, was asked to step out of the vehicle and during the search of the vehicle, Kisselbaugh found a half pound of marijuana and approximately 50 grams of crack cocaine. There was also a digital scale and individual clear plastic baggies for distribution along with the drugs.

Hardy is currently lodged in the Logan County Detention Center and is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia - second offense. He is awaiting additional charges from the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.

Single car accident

Roy L. Stewart was traveling north on U.S. 79 approximately 8.5 miles south of Russellville when his vehicle ran off the right shoulder.

He traveled approximately 81 feet in the ditch before the vehicle began to roll, flipping over twice and traveling another 123 feet before coming to rest on its top, wedged between the ditch and tree line.

Stewart was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

The accident is being investigated by Logan County Sheriff's Deputy Laura Hadden. Assisting on the scene was The Medical Center EMS and the Olmstead Rural Fire Department.
