Mr. and Mrs. Rex Porter of Lewisburg and the late William Brooks of Lewisburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Christa Suzanne Brooks, to Jonathan Everitt Yates, son of Mitchell and Teresa Yates of Auburn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Christine Coursey of Lewisburg and Roy Coursey of Spa and Clifford Brooks and the late Mary Elsie Brooks of Lewisburg. She is the step-granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Porter of Lewisburg. She is a 2005 graduate of Logan County High School and is currently pursuing a degree in accounting.

The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Alice Yates and the late Gerald Yates of Auburn and Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Latham of Dunmor. He is the great-grandson of Shellie Skipworth of Deer Lick. He is a 2004 graduate of Logan County High School and is currently employed at Protec Welding in Russellville.

The wedding will be held on June 28, 2008 at 5 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg with the reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
