“We've got lots of tractors and equipment and old engines,” said event organizer Drexel Johnson.
The show begins Friday, June 6 at McCutchen-Coke Park in Auburn and and there will be a tractor pull at 6 p.m. that evening. On Saturday, June 7 the show will begin at around 8 a.m. Special events that day include a tractor pull at noon and a kiddie pull at 1:30 p.m.
“We have a good time,” Johnson said.
Since it began 18 years ago, the show has grown quite a bit, Johnson said. He recalled it began when some men just decided to gather and show off their old tractors and engines. They formed the Logan County Antique Engine and Tractor Club. The fist year of the show there were about six engines and four tractors. Last year there were over 400.
“We have people from several states to come,” Johnson said.
People begin setting up Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Registration is on site and there is no cost to participate.
“Just show up,” Johnson said. The show features a wide variety of tractors and engines in all shapes, colors and sizes.
“People just enjoy walking around and reminiscing,” Johnson said.
In addition to the tractors and engines on display, there will be food vendors and some booths featuring crafts and other items. The 400 Mile Sale will be going on, so there will be some yard sale booths set up at and near the park.
“There's something for young and old alike,” Johnson said.
