Four individuals have been taken into custody in connection with a meth lab, which was discovered by the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force (SCKDTF) after an anonymous tip was given.

The meth lab was located on Bum Paw Road in Lewisburg. Agents with SCKDFT and the Pennyrile Drug Task Force assisted by the Logan County Sheriff's Department went to the residence May 29. When agents arrived at the residence they noticed a thick cloud was surrounding a garage which held several people within it.

After against obtained enough information to secure a search warrant they moved in on the garage where they found an active meth lab.

The lab was dismantled with help from the Lewisburg Fire department and the Logan County Emergency Management Response Unit.

It was discovered that there were two small children in the residence. The children were taken to Logan Memorial Hospital and check for meth lab contamination.

Authorities arrested David Morgan, 36, of Elkton, Christopher Borders, 36, of Lewisburg, David Whitaker, 37, of Elkton and Angel Harris, 19, of Lewisburg. They were all lodged in the Logan County Detention Center. Their case will be presented to the Grand Jury.

“This is the second tip within the last week that has lead agents to a meth lab,” said SCKDTF Director Jerry Smith. “This tip saved their lives of two children. If more people would report this type of activity it would lesson the chances of children getting cancer or other illnesses related to methamphetamine", said Smith who urges people to call in their tips to SCKDTF at 270-725-4972.

“You do not have to give us your name, only your information,” said Smith.
