State Representative Sheldon Baugh and State Senator Joey Pendelton helped secure $1.75 million in the state budget to go toward water improvements in Logan County.

Most of the funds will go to the Logan/Todd Water Commission, but money has also been set aside to help the cities of Adairville, Auburn and Lewisburg.

“This is a good stewardship that will ensure the quality of water and improve the water services in Logan County,” Pendleton said. “Providing reliable, clean and safe drinking water is a top priority. I am extremely proud of these projects. They are critical to the service to our citizens and growth of our community.”

In Adairville, $150,000 has been earmarked to upgrade the city's water tank. Auburn and Lewisburg both received funding for sewer projects. Lewisburg will get $200,000 while Auburn will get $150,000.

“This funding is great news for the people of Logan County and I am honored to be able to share it,” said Baugh. “These water projects will benefit everyone in the county, but particularly those without the security of safe water.”

The remainder of the $1.75 million will go to the Logan/Todd Water Commission - $650,000 for plant expansion and $600,000 for territory expansion.
