Today is the 40th anniversary of the assasination Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It's an important thing to note, because either directly or indirectly, Dr. King has touched each one of our lives.

In my case, being a white man who was born after his untimely death, it's been more indirectly.

But that doesn't mean I'm not thankful for the changes he helped to bring about.

Since I've not been as directly influenced by Dr. King's life, I figured it would be best to let him speak for himself today.

So here is a small except from his final speech. He delivered this on April 3, 1968, in Memphis in support of the striking sanitation workers at Mason Temple.
