Adairville Elementary team was led in scoring by Jordan Campbell with a 238, followed closely by Princess Yates at 219, Amanda Crutchfield 216, Jason Schrock 213, Dayton Thompson 213, Megan Ferguson 207, Laura Hendricks 202, Alex Hughes 197, Will Robey 195, Jacob Burton 194, Taylor Blakemore 189, Emily Crutchfield 185, Grace McLellan 179, Katie Robertson 162, Zeb Delaney 159, Amber Anderson 133, and Lauren Batten 127.
But the successes did not end with the Elementary Team, Dusty Yates and Emily Chambers, who scored a 254 and 216 respectfully, earned an invitation to participate in the State tournament in Louisville on March 18th. Emily and Dusty are members of the Middle School Team that did not qualify as a team for state but their scores qualified them as individuals. The tournament will be held at the Convention Center in downtown Louisville.
Adairville Archery has been successful because of the support of the community and the dedication of the coaches to the youth of our community. Coaches; Kevin Ferguson, Richard Hughes, Bill Hendricks, Chad Campbell, Nicholas Anderson, Kevin Brown and Robbie Mclellan who entertained our fans during our tournament with his humor and wit, Valerie Hughes, Allyson Brown and Beth Campbell, and countless others from the community who have given time and money to support our youth. The South Logan Chamber of Commerce, The Fish and Game Club, Adairville City Council, Hughes Farms, Hickory Hill Greenhouses, Adairville PTO, Joey and Dee Dee Hallman, Allen Thomas from Hunters Den who has provided advice, help, and support throughout our first year of competition.
The NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) is now in over 750 Schools throughout Kentucky and in all 50 states. It is co-sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education and the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Agency to encourage students to get off the couch and get outdoors while enjoying a sport that anyone can be successful at, and can be enjoyed throughout their lives.
