The Logan County Farm Bureau recently held a media appreciation event. Logan County is fortunate to have the News-Democrat Leader that publishes bi-weekly and WRUS Radio that is on the air daily. John Alcott, Logan County Farm Bureau Public Information Chairman, credits our media for the Logan County Farm Bureau receiving the first place Public Information Award at the Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting this past December in Louisville.

The News-Democrat and Leader ran numerous local, Kentucky and American Farm Bureau articles that promoted agriculture as well as providing vital agriculture news. WRUS Radio runs a daily (6:05 a.m.) Farm Bureau "Across Kentucky" radio program that takes in-depth looks at new farm technology or current issues. News, weather, grain and livestock market information is very important to our local farmers.

Chris Cooper, managing editor of News-Democrat and Leader and Chris McGinnis of WRUS Radio, received small gifts of appreciation from the Logan County Farm Bureau Federation for their efforts in promoting agriculture in 2007.
