Driver charged with DUI following accident

On Wednesday, January 23, at around 9 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff's Department responded to a one-vehicle accident at the 8000 block of Lewisburg Road.

According to the police report, Randy Lee Ramsey of Auburn was traveling north on US 431 North (Lewisburg Road) when his vehicle left the right shoulder of the road and rolled twice before coming to a stop in front of a residence. Ramsey sustained severe injuries to his face and was transported by EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

Deputy Jeremy Mahan determined Ramsey was under the influence of alcohol in the event and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, first offense aggravated, possession of open alcohol container within motor vehicle, and failure to wear seat belts. The accident is being investigated by Deputy Mahan, assisted by Deputies Larry Jones, Jonathan Shackelford, Lewisburg Fire Department and Medical Center EMS.
