The Logan County High School girls' basketball team is looking more and more like a M.A.S.H. these days, but that hasn't stopped the Lady Cougars from going on their first winning streak of the season.

Logan County knocked off visiting Fort Campbell 55-30 on Tuesday for its third consecutive win.

“That gets us back to .500,” said LCHS coach Scot MacAllister. “I think it's good because as we're missing people, somebody else just keeps stepping up and filling the gaps.”

The Lady Cougars started the game without their top player, senior Brittany Roark, and lost one of their best post players, sophomore Sarah Speck, in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

Several other players, including junior Jenna Wilson and freshman Victoria Elliott, are nursing nagging injuries.

“Hopefully toward the end of the year, it'll pay off when district tournament time comes around

Logan County went up 21-3 after the first quarter and MacAllister was able to liberally use his bench from that point on.

Senior guard Lora Miller led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 18 points and sophomore Michelle England contributed 13 points.

“Miller continues to be that constant that we need and England has just been studly for us,” MacAllister said.

Senior Danielle Brown also added nine points for Logan.

Fort Campbell was led in scoring by Ashley Madison, who finished with 18.

For the game, the Lady Cougars shot 16-for-47 from the field and were 4-for-9 from 3-point range. Logan County also committed just 14 turnovers.

“That was pretty good considering we started putting the young kids in,” MacAllister said.

Logan County (6-6) plays at Glasgow tonight. The Lady Cougars lost 48-32 at home to Glasgow earlier this season.

“Last time we didn't have Brittany and it was four-point game at halftime,” MacAllister said. “We might have Brittany this time, but she won't be at full strength and we won't have Sarah.”

The Logan County boys also play at Glasgow tonight.

The Cougars fell to 1-11 on the year with a 72-37 loss to Fort Campbell on Tuesday.
