The Reality Store is a real life simulation where students are given a job and a monthly income. They are randomly assigned a certain number of children and then they travel from station to station, making decisions which will impact their futures and their income levels. They will set up checking accounts at a simulated bank, and then they have the freedom of "shopping" at various booths which represent options they would have in real life. Some students manage their income wisely and others find that they have to go to the SOS booth for financial help.
The Reality Store was designed to help students learn about financial management and the adult world of juggling job, families, and hobbies in order to live a "successful" life. Initiated in the mid 1990's, the Reality Store has become an annual event in many communities across the state.
