Pennyrile Forest offers hikes along Macedonia Trail

Beginning hikers will have two opportunities this fall to try out a trail at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park near Dawson Springs.

Adventure Pennyrile Forest will offer naturalist-guided hikes along the Macedonia Trail on Sept. 15 and Oct. 6. The hike of approximately 4 miles is rated as easy.

The registration fee is $10 per person. Registration fee includes: transportation, a bottle of water, snack, and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park patch. Registered participants can get a 10 percent discount off park lodging.

Participants will meet in the lodge lobby at 9 a.m. Participants must register at least one week before the hike date. To register contact Rebecca Clark at 1-800-325-1711 or rebeccae.clark@ky.gov

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, campground, Clifty Creek Restaurant, golf, mini-golf, gift shop, fishing, boating and hiking trails. The resort is 20 miles northwest of Hopkinsville, on KY 109 N.
