Witnesses were able to give a description of a white Chrysler 300M with several people inside. Witnesses also believed that the suspects were from Springfield, Tenn.
While attempting to locate the vehicle, Logan County Sheriff's Deputies Clinton Wright and Rodney McMillin observed a vehicle matching that description traveling south bound n U.S. 431 South.
As deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver refused to pull over and a short pursuit occurred that abruptly ended on School Street in Adairville with all four occupants being taken into custody.
Upon searching the vehicle and a positive K-9 alert, deputies reported locating a .380-caliber handgun under the passenger side seat. Also located in the console was a large baggie containing 10.59 grams of marijuana and 3.5 grams of crack cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle was Marvelle Woodard, 22 of Springfield, Tenn. He was charged with no operators license, fleeing/evading police 1st degree motor vehicle, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree second offense cocaine, trafficking in a controlled substance within a 1000 yards of a school zone, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Passengers Carl Ellis, 24, Levi Pope, 25 and Mario Herron, 27, all of Springfield, Tenn. were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree cocaine, trafficking in a controlled substance within a 1000 yards of a school zone, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a handgun by convicted felons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herron was also charged with resisting arrest.
All suspects were lodged in the Logan County Detention Center. All suspects are facing additional charges of wanton endangerment and criminal mischief.
