A little over a week ago, the Auburn Park was filled with the sound of bluegrass music. This weekend, sounds of antique engines and tractors will fill the air instead.

The 17th Annual Logan County Antique Engine and Tractor Show will be Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, at the McCutchen-Coke Park, and organizer Drexel Johnson said they are looking forward to a great weekend.

“We want people to just come and have a good time,” Johnson said.

Each year, the park is filled with tractors and engines of all shapes and sizes. Johnson said anyone wishing to bring something to display can just show up and register. Some people also bring old tools and other implements for display. Those who bring something to exhibit will get a free lunch on Saturday, Johnson said.

“It gets bigger every year,” he added.

The weekend will also feature tractor pulls. The first one will be Friday evening, with weigh in at 6 p.m. and the pull at 7 p.m. A second pull will be held Saturday, with weigh in at noon and the pull at 1 p.m.

For the younger crowd, a kiddie pull will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. There will also be a toy tractor display with some for sale.

A flea market will be set up at the pavilion and other vendors will be set up at the park. Food vendors will also be on hand. Visitors to the show can also enjoy a lumberjack demonstration.

Johnson said they hope families will come to the show, relax and enjoy the day.

For more information on bringing a tractor or engine, call Johnson at 755-4011. Anyone interested in setting up any other type of booth or table at the flea market should contact Auburn City Hall at 542-4149.
