A North Logan man says a warning from the state about transient job seekers is hurting his business.

Recently the Better Business Bureau and the attorney general's office have issued warnings about people who come to your home and farm wanting to paint barns, seal driveways, do roofing, etc.

Randy Henderson of Lewisburg says he has been painting barns in Logan County and the surrounding region for 20 years with his Henderson/Rosser Barn Painting business.

“Now when I go to see someone about painting a barn, they say ‘I heard about people like you' or ‘I read about this in the paper,' and they shut the door and call the police,” Henderson says.

“It even happens when I've made arrangements with a husband, he's out in the field, and the wife meets me at the door. Before I know it, the police are pulling up behind me.”

Henderson says that not only is his business legitimate but that the N-D&L did a story on it a few years ago.

What the BBB recommends is that you deal with local people and that you ask anyone who comes to your door to see their licenses to do business in Russellville and Logan County.
