team closed out the 2006-07 regular season with a 79-66 win over Florida International Saturday night at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The win moved the Lady Toppers to 20-7 on the year, as they reach the 20-win mark for the fifth straight year and 23rd time in the program's history. They also wrapped up the #3 seed in next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a 14-4 league mark.
WKU will now turn its attention to the postseason as it opens up tournament play on Saturday at 9 p.m. (CST) in the SBC Tourney quarterfinals in Lafayette, La. The Lady Toppers will meet the winner of a first-round game between Louisiana-Monroe and Arkansas State. Those teams will meet in Jonesboro, Ark., on Wednesday.
Crystal Kelly led the Lady Topper effort with a game-high 31 points and 15 rebounds. It marked the fourth 30-point game of the season for Kelly as she went over 1,900 career points in the contest. Tiffany Zaragoza finished with 10 points in her final game at Diddle Arena.
It was also the final home game for center Sarah Shouse, whose dad John is assistant coach of the Logan County Lady Cougars.
