Olmstead, Auburn reach boys finals

Adairville won the first boys game of the Logan County Middle School Tournament. last Thursday, the first step of the process of Auburn and Olmstead meeting in the finals.

Coach Bradley Grise's Cardinals outscored Chandlers 11-7 in the fourth quarter to win 33-39.

Olmstead beat Auburn 49-36 in Tuesday's championship game. See the story in a later edition.

The Redbirds hit 9 of 12 free throws in the four quarter with Dalton Gunderson going 4 for 4, Will McKenzie 2 for 2 and Calem Ebel 3 for 4. Cory Jones missed the other two but he hit the winners' only field goal of the fourth quarter.

Ebel finished with 14 points.

The Bears' attack was nicely balanced with three players with 5 points and two with 6.
