Capps joins the Red Cross with experience in non-profit organization fund raising, marketing and management. She began her professional career in Lexington with Host Communications Inc., where she served on the management team of the National Tourism Foundation. She also served as marketing manager for GTKY Credit Union Inc. before relocating to Bowling Green.
Capps received a bachelor of science degree in marketing and a bachelor of arts degree in advertising from Western Kentucky University.
“This is an amazing opportunity for me and I look forward to building a strong relationship with our volunteers and the community,” Capps said.
“The work that the Red Cross does in this area impacts each of us, whether it be through blood donations, emergency contact with a member of the military or a local, regional or national disaster. It is critical that we have the funding and volunteers in place when an emergency arises and are able to assist everyone in need.”
The South Central Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross provides disaster preparedness and response, and health and safety education to residents of Allen, Butler, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren counties, as well as assistance to families with members in the military. Led by volunteers, the South Central Kentucky Chapter served 135 families with emergency food, clothing and shelter needs last year.
