A Lewisburg man was killed in an automobile accident in Muhlenberg County Monday.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Millard L. Johnson, 33, was traveling southbound on KY 181 when he ran into the rear end of a school bus driven by Carole Skipworth of Greenville. The bus was empty and on the way to the Todd County School District.

Johnson’s vehicle became lodged under the bus and was dragged for about 831 feet before the vehicles came to a stop. Johnson’s vehicle caught fire and the fire quickly spread to the bus.

Skipworth escaped with minor injuries and was treated and released from Muhlenberg Community Hospital.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was from Bremen and had recently moved to Lewisburg.

An obituary for Mr. Johnson appears on Page A-5.
